Answers to common questions about Shuffle My Team
Shuffle My Team is an assistant coach app for volunteer youth sports coaches in recreational leagues. It helps you manage your roster, shuffle players into fair lineups with one tap, track bench equity across a season, and sync lineups in real time with co-coaches.
On the My Teams screen, tap + New Team. Choose your sport, select a formation, give your team a name and color, then tap Create Team. Your team is ready to use immediately.
From your team's home screen, tap Roster, then tap Add Player. Enter the player's name, choose their preferred positions, and optionally add a photo. Tap Save to add them to the roster.
From your team's home screen, tap Games, then tap New Game. Enter the date, opponent, and number of segments (innings or periods). After creating the game, tap Take Attendance to mark which players are present, then tap Start Game.
On the game screen, tap the Shuffle button. The app assigns players to positions automatically, prioritizing players who have spent the most time on the bench, respecting position locks, and honoring each player's preferred positions. You can shuffle as many times as you like before confirming a segment.
On the game screen, tap a player token on the field, then tap the lock icon. A locked player stays in that position when you shuffle. Tap the lock again to unlock them.
From your team's home screen, tap the gear icon to open Team Settings. Your team's invite code is shown there — share it with your co-coach. They tap Join a Team on the My Teams screen, enter the code, and they'll have full access to your roster and games.
The app tracks how many segments each player has spent on the bench across all games in a season. When you shuffle, players with more bench time are prioritized for field positions. You can see each player's bench count in the game screen during the shuffle.
From your team's home screen, tap the gear icon, then tap Default Lineup. Assign players to positions — this lineup is used as the starting point when you create a new game.
Yes. When creating or editing a team, choose Custom as the formation. You can drag position markers onto the field graphic, name each position, and assign it to a group (infield, outfield, etc.).
Yes. All team, roster, and game data is stored in your account and syncs in real time. Sign in on any device with the same Google or Apple account to access your teams.
Shuffle My Team supports Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple. Both options collect only your name and email address. Apple's option also lets you keep your email private using their relay service.
